This entity is used to manage the IoT device payload message mapping, different type of IoT devices may send/ingest different type of payload message structure, device template helps to map this payload message to DM correctly. It provides function to auto parse JSON format payload message into DM useable device metric key with selectable data type, this function simplified the data mapping configuration task, and the user can decide which metric key value to be send into DM data hub. Metric key can be manually add if it is missing from JSON format payload message. With using device template, it also helps improve the efficiency while generating multiple IoT device with same structure of payload message, device metrics, key, name, metric type, and data type. Device Template is working together with Device entity, template must be configured and created before adding new IoT device on Device entity. Below figure show the example of JSON format payload message parsing GUI.
